Dear Sh. S.K. Dwivedi Ji,
Sub: Seeking your Urgent Attention and Intervention
towards a Poor Labour Family in Sonapalli Village
of Old Malda Block in Malda District
This letter is to bring to your notice the deplorable predicament of an underprivileged rural family and to seek your kind support towards their painful plight.
Sh. Krishna Pal, 35 years old, is a resident of Sonapalli village in Old Malda region of Malda district. Working as a daily-wage labourer, he used to earn the livelihood for his family of 5 people including him. Unfortunately, he met with an accident 8 months ago which resulted in numbness of his hand.
Presently, the family, comprising of his wife (30 years), two daughters (11 years and 12 years) and a son (two years), is striving to make the ends meet. In face of a crushed hand, Sh. Krishna Pal is unable to work and earn for his family. He was the sole bread-winner for the family and now due to his unfit condition, he is unable to generate income for the family. Condition has aggravated to an extent of daughters planning to leave the school and getting engaged in daily-wage work to run the family.
Sh. Krishna Pal is seeking financial help to get his hand treated and get back to his work to sustain his and his family’s livelihood. He approached Nirbhoy Didi (Sreerupa Mitra Chaudhury) to seek help.
As you know, Nirbhoy Gram is a people’s movement for safety, security and justice at the grassroot level initiated by Sreerupa Mitra Chaudhury. It primarily focuses on safety and security of women and children. The campaign aims to remove fear from the minds of villagers, teach villagers to stand against crime and corruption, educate them to fight economic insolvency, motivate them to voice out their demands for safety and security and elect fearless and truthful leaders as their representatives in polity for social, economic and infrastructural transformation of the villages.
As a rural campaign, Nirbhoy Gram is not into service delivery but supports villagers in seeking support from the appropriate source. On behalf of Sh. Krishna Pal, I, founder of Nirbhoy Gram Campaign, appeal to you to extend your kind support towards this family and bring them back to their normal life.
- Provide access to appropriate medical care to Sh. Krishna Pal.
- Cover Sh. Krishna Pal’s wife and daughters under MGNAREGA, Kanyashree and National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) programs of the government to save them from starvation and school drop-out.
Your active and immediate intervention through government support shall prove extremely helpful for this family. I look forward for your support in this cause.
